Delivery of Entries:
Entries
are to be registered at Cedar Rock’s Office/Barn
from
12:00
noon to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010.
All
scarecrows must remain on the premises through the end of
October. Cedar Rock personnel will be available to
assist participants in location of designated scarecrow
spots. All entries must be completed by 5:00 pm,
Saturday, September 25, 2010.
Only one entry per person/ family/organization/business.
Scarecrows can be picked up on
Monday, November 1 from
3:00 – 6:00 pm.
Any scarecrow not picked up by
6:00
pm, Monday, November 1
will become the property of Cedar Rock.
Size
Limitation:
Minimum height of 4 feet, Maximum height of 8
feet. Your exhibit may include more than one figure, but not
more than four.
Materials:
All
scarecrows must be built on a 1 1/2” square post (they are
called 2 x 2’s at Lowe’s) or t-post (sold at Farm Supply
Stores). T-post are best since the ground is often rocky.
All
scarecrow entries must remain on display outside from
September 25 through November 1, 2010
and will be
subjected to wind and/or rain.
Your scarecrow MUST be weather resistant and sturdy with
all ornamentation securely attached.
NO perishable goods may be used in
the construction of your scarecrow. Instead choose
artificial fruit, gourds, etc. Any signage cannot be bigger
than 18”x24”. Cedar Rock reserves the right to
remove any scarecrow that does not hold up to natural
elements.
NO SCARY
SCARECROWS. NO STYRO-FOAM. GLASS OR MAJOR APPLIANCES.
Human scarecrows or mechanical scarecrows facilitated by
humans are not allowed for contest.
Ideas:
Traditional, Whimsical, Scarecrow Family, Occupation, Local
Team, etc.
 
Restrictions:

Scarecrows must be in good taste & constructed to
withstand weather. Scarecrows will not be accepted that
reflect any scary, controversial, social or political
situations. Cedar Rock reserves the right to deny any
scarecrow that is not in good taste or meets the
criteria. All entries are subject to limitations of
space availability as well as the standards of display
as established by Cedar Rock management.

Neither Cedar Rock, nor their agents, will be held
responsible for any injury or damage associated with the
2010 Fall Fest Scarecrow Contest.

It is understood that Cedar Rock and its agents may use
photographs of, stories about, and the actual scarecrow
entries themselves as well as all information contained
on the entry form for publicity and promotion on the
event.

It is understood that all entries and ornamentation
become the sole property of Cedar Rock if not picked up
by
6:00 pm, Monday, November 2.
All judging
decisions are final.
Prizes
will be awarded 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Cedar
Rock Fall Fest.
Prizes
will be awarded for 1st ($500.00) 2nd ($300.00) 3rd
($200.00).
